Terms and Conditions
SACRED COVENANT MARRIAGE INSTITUTE (SCMI)
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Effective Date: August 8, 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the website, programs, services, educational materials, digital products, consultations, and other offerings provided by Sacred Covenant Marriage Institute (“SCMI,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By accessing SCMI’s website, enrolling in a program, booking a service, purchasing a product, or otherwise using SCMI’s services, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to these Terms.
1. SERVICES
SCMI provides premarital education, relationship-enrichment programs, wedding-related services, educational resources, consultations, self-paced programs, digital products, workbooks, and other related services.
Specific services, pricing, program requirements, schedules, and deliverables may vary according to the program or package purchased.
2. EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE & PROFESSIONAL DISCLAIMER
SCMI’s premarital and relationship programs are intended for educational, informational, and relationship-enrichment purposes.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, SCMI services are not psychotherapy, mental health counseling, medical treatment, legal advice, financial advice, or other licensed professional services.
Participation in an SCMI program does not establish a therapist-client, attorney-client, physician-patient, or financial-advisor relationship.
Participants requiring specialized professional assistance should seek an appropriately licensed professional.
3. ELIGIBILITY
Users purchasing or entering into agreements for SCMI services must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.
Participants are responsible for providing accurate and complete information when registering, purchasing, scheduling, or completing program materials.
4. REGISTRATION & PAYMENT
Payment requirements will be disclosed at the time of booking or purchase.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, required payments must be received before services, appointments, programs, or digital materials are provided.
Prices and program offerings may change periodically. A price change will not ordinarily affect a purchase already completed unless otherwise agreed by the parties.
5. APPOINTMENTS & SCHEDULING
Clients are responsible for attending scheduled appointments at the agreed date and time.
Clients should provide at least 48 hours’ notice when requesting cancellation of a live or guided service.
Rescheduling requests are subject to availability and SCMI’s applicable cancellation and rescheduling policies.
Missed appointments and no-shows may result in forfeiture of the scheduled session without refund.
6. DIGITAL PRODUCTS & SELF-PACED PROGRAMS
Digital products may include courses, workbooks, assessments, planners, templates, videos, downloads, exercises, and other educational materials.
Unless expressly authorized by SCMI, purchasing a digital product provides the purchaser with a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the material for personal purposes.
Purchasers may not reproduce, resell, redistribute, publish, upload, share, license, or commercially exploit SCMI materials without prior written authorization.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
SCMI’s original materials—including its program content, written materials, curriculum, worksheets, workbooks, graphics, branding, logos, assessments, exercises, templates, and other proprietary content—are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of SCMI intellectual property to a client or website user.
Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, resale, modification, or commercial use is prohibited.
8. CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION
When a program includes a Certificate of Completion, participants must satisfy the applicable program requirements before a certificate will be issued.
Purchasing or enrolling in a program does not automatically guarantee issuance of a certificate.
Participants are responsible for determining whether an SCMI Certificate of Completion satisfies the requirements of any court, county, state, marriage-license authority, employer, organization, or other third party.
SCMI does not guarantee that a certificate will be accepted for a particular legal, governmental, licensing, insurance, or financial benefit unless expressly confirmed by the appropriate authority.
9. PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES
Participants agree to:
Provide truthful and accurate information;
Participate respectfully;
Complete required program components when applicable;
Avoid disruptive, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or unlawful conduct;
Respect the privacy of other participants; and
Use SCMI services and materials only for lawful purposes.
SCMI reserves the right to discontinue participation when conduct threatens safety, substantially disrupts services, or materially violates these Terms.
10. COUPLES PARTICIPATION
SCMI cannot guarantee that participation will prevent separation, divorce, conflict, or other relationship difficulties.
Program outcomes depend on numerous factors, including each participant’s circumstances, participation, communication, decisions, and willingness to apply the educational material.
Each participant remains responsible for their own personal and relationship decisions.
11. SAFETY
SCMI programs are not designed to provide emergency intervention or crisis services.
If information disclosed during participation reasonably indicates an immediate safety concern, SCMI may take actions reasonably believed necessary or required by applicable law.
Individuals experiencing an emergency should contact the appropriate emergency or qualified professional resources available in their jurisdiction.
12. REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY
Purchases and bookings are subject to SCMI’s separate Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Digital products and self-paced materials are generally non-refundable after access or delivery has been provided, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
13. PRIVACY
Information collected through SCMI’s website, programs, forms, and services is handled according to SCMI’s Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
14. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
SCMI may use third-party providers for services including payment processing, website hosting, scheduling, video conferencing, electronic signatures, email, text communications, digital-content delivery, and other technology.
SCMI is not responsible for outages, interruptions, security incidents, policy changes, or other actions caused solely by independently operated third-party services beyond SCMI’s reasonable control.
15. WEBSITE AVAILABILITY
SCMI does not guarantee that its website, digital programs, or online services will always operate without interruption or technical errors.
SCMI may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security, technical issues, updates, or circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
16. RESULTS DISCLAIMER
Testimonials, examples, educational discussions, or descriptions of previous client experiences do not guarantee identical results.
Individual results vary.
No statement by SCMI should be interpreted as guaranteeing a particular relationship, marital, personal, financial, legal, or other outcome unless expressly provided in a written agreement.
17. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SCMI will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of its website, educational materials, digital products, or services.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
18. INDEMNIFICATION
To the extent permitted by applicable law, users agree to be responsible for claims, losses, or expenses resulting from their unlawful use of SCMI’s website, services, or intellectual property or their material violation of these Terms.
19. TERMINATION OF ACCESS
SCMI may suspend or terminate access to services or materials when a participant materially violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent or unlawful activity, abuses SCMI personnel or other participants, or misuses SCMI intellectual property.
Termination does not automatically create a right to a refund.
20. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
SCMI may revise these Terms periodically.
Updated Terms may be posted on SCMI’s website with a revised effective date. Changes will apply prospectively to the extent required by applicable law and any existing written agreement.
21. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
22. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms, together with SCMI’s Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, applicable program descriptions, and any separately signed client agreement, constitute the applicable terms governing the client’s use or purchase of SCMI services.
If a separately signed agreement expressly conflicts with these general Terms, the specifically negotiated written agreement will control with respect to that conflict.
